Where there’s a window there’s a way

Burglary isn’t just something we see in films, it genuinely happens and it occurs a lot more than people think it does. There’s a high chance, for example, that your house will be broken into at some stage of your life and if it’s not the door they come through it will be the window. Windows are weak points because they’re made of glass, but also because they show the contents of your home. So what can you do to make your home more secure? Well you can get extremely thick glass as well as secure locking systems for windows which make it more difficult to break in. You can also buy window bars though these aren’t the most attractive feature for a home. Most importantly though, you can improve security by using your head. Keep windows locked whenever you’re leaving a room for a long period of time, and make sure you don’t tell anyone when you’re going away for the weekend!

A glass extension or veranda conservatory not only improves the market value of your property but also the quality of life that you lead within it. With the weather being so unpredictable, a conservatory can provide the perfect place to entertain friends or simply relax and enjoy your garden without being forced to brave the elements.

However, choosing the right conservatory can be a bit daunting as there are so many factors to consider. Once a budget has been set, size and colour are usually the first things people decide upon. But when it comes to style and shape, they sometimes begin to struggle.
