Are your vinyl windows feeling tight/and or difficult to operate? Usually lubricating the windows will resolve the issue, allowing the windows slide with little effort. How do we recommend you lubricate your windows you ask? Find out below.

Before you lubricate the windows, clean the vinyl liner tracks with a dry rag. After you’ve cleaned the liner tracks, clean the edges of the window sash. If you have a heavy dirt buildup, then clean with dish soap and warm water.

Now it’s time to use some silicone lubricant. Spray some lubricant onto a dry cloth and then wipe both vinyl liners with the cloth. Also wipe the sides of the sashes. Avoid spraying directly onto the parts, just spray onto the cloth.

After this is all done, reinstall the sashes and then operate the sash back and forth for a minute. This will help distribute the lubricant.
